It does not replace your call. It makes sure it happens.

Maya Calder

Co-founder and CEO

People sometimes ask if Wren is meant to take checking in off their plate. It is a fair question, and the answer is a firm no. If Wren ever became the reason you called your mother less, it would have failed at the one thing it exists to do.

The call is the point

Your voice, your visit, your ordinary presence in someone's life is not something we would ever want to stand in for. It is the whole thing. What goes missing is not the will to reach out. It is the knowing when. The quiet weeks blur together, and the moment when a call would have meant the most slips by unmarked.

Wren watches for that moment on your behalf. When it notices that someone you love seems a little low, or is holding something they are not saying, it tells you, gently, that this is a good time. Then it steps back. The call is yours to make, in your own voice, the way only you can.

Wren is the tap on the shoulder that says: now, call now. It is never the one who calls.

We measure Wren by the calls it helps happen, not the ones it saves you from making. A good week for Wren is one where it stayed quiet because everyone was well, or one where it nudged you at just the right time and you were glad it did. Either way, the relationship stays exactly where it belongs, between you and the people you love.

This note describes how Wren thinks about caring for the people you love. Wren always says it is Wren, and it never replaces your own call.
